Welcome to the CPD Council website and professional recognition ecosystem. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the CPD Council website, services, recognition programs, verification services, CPD Credit services, applications, certificates, digital credentials, and related activities.
By accessing this website, submitting an application, registering for a service, becoming a recognized center or partner, or using any CPD Council service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the relevant CPD Council services.
1. About CPD Council
CPD Council is an independent professional recognition and verification organization providing frameworks and services related to continuing professional development, learning recognition, CPD Credit verification, professional development assessment, and organizational recognition.
CPD Council may work with training centers, educational institutions, professional organizations, industry partners, individual professionals, and other eligible organizations.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, CPD Council recognition does not constitute governmental accreditation, statutory licensing, university accreditation, professional licensure, or regulatory authorization.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
“CPD Council”, “Council,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to CPD Council and its authorized representatives.
“User,” “you,” or “your” refers to any person or organization accessing or using CPD Council services.
“Center” means a training provider, academy, institute, educational organization, corporate learning provider, or other organization applying for or holding CPD Council recognition.
“Partner” means an organization formally collaborating with CPD Council under an approved partnership or recognition arrangement.
“CPD Credits” means credits or units assigned, recognized, verified, or authenticated under the applicable CPD Council framework.
“Recognition” means formal recognition granted by CPD Council within a defined scope and subject to applicable requirements.
“Verification” means the review or authentication of information, learning activity, professional development evidence, credits, certificates, or related records against applicable CPD Council requirements.
3. Eligibility
Use of CPD Council services is generally available to individuals and organizations that are legally capable of entering into binding agreements.
Organizations applying for recognition must provide accurate information regarding their legal identity, activities, programs, personnel, learning provision, and other information reasonably required for evaluation.
CPD Council may decline an application where eligibility requirements are not satisfied or where the proposed activity falls outside the Council’s applicable scope.
4. Website Use
Users agree to use the CPD Council website lawfully and responsibly.
You must not:
- Use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
- Submit knowingly false or misleading information;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
- Interfere with the operation or security of the website;

- Copy or reproduce proprietary materials without authorization;
- Misrepresent your relationship with CPD Council;
- Use CPD Council marks without appropriate authorization;
- Attempt to manipulate verification systems or records.
CPD Council reserves the right to restrict or terminate access where misuse or a violation of these Terms is identified.
5. Applications for Recognition
Centers, organizations, and other applicants may apply for CPD Council recognition through the applicable application process.
Submission of an application does not guarantee recognition.
Applicants may be required to provide supporting information or documentation concerning:
- Organizational structure;
- Program design;
- Learning objectives;
- Curriculum or content;
- Trainers or facilitators;
- Delivery methods;
- Assessment;
- Learner support;
- Quality assurance;
- Records and documentation;
- Professional or industry relevance.
CPD Council may request additional information where reasonably necessary to complete an evaluation.
6. Recognition Decisions
Recognition decisions are based on the applicable CPD Council standards, available evidence, professional review, and the scope of the application.
CPD Council may:
- Approve an application;
- Approve an application subject to conditions;
- Request further information;
- Require corrective action;
- Defer a decision;
- Decline an application;
- Limit the scope of recognition.
Recognition applies only to the organization, program, activity, or scope specifically approved.
Recognition of a center does not automatically mean that every course, activity, trainer, certificate, or service offered by that center is recognized by CPD Council.
7. Recognition Period & Renewal
Recognition may be granted for a defined period or subject to defined conditions.
Recognized centers and partners are responsible for maintaining applicable standards throughout the recognition period.
Renewal may require updated information, quality evidence, program review, or other applicable requirements.
CPD Council may periodically review recognized organizations, programs, or activities to ensure continuing alignment with applicable standards.
8. CPD Credits
CPD Credits may be assigned or verified according to the applicable CPD Council framework.
Credit allocation may consider factors including learning duration, structure, objectives, delivery method, assessment, participation, learning evidence, and professional relevance.
CPD Credits are not automatically equivalent to academic credits, university credits, professional licenses, regulatory requirements, or employment qualifications.
Acceptance of CPD Credits by an employer, regulator, professional body, educational institution, or other third party remains subject to that organization’s own requirements.
9. CPD Credit Verification & Authentication
CPD Council may provide verification and authentication services for eligible learner records and professional development activities.
Verification may include confirmation of:
- Learner information;
- Program or activity;
- Issuing organization;
- Completion or participation;
- CPD Credit allocation;
- Assessment information where applicable;
- Certificate or credential details;
- Verification reference.
Verification confirms the status and authenticity of the information available to CPD Council or the recognized provider at the time of verification.
Verification does not constitute an independent guarantee of an individual’s professional competence, employment suitability, licensing status, or authorization to practice.
10. Fees & Charges
Membership fees may be waived for approved centers and recognized partners, subject to the applicable recognition arrangement.
Separate charges may apply to services including:
- CPD Credit verification;
- Learner authentication;
- Professional development assessment;
- Certificate or credential verification;
- Digital credential services;
- Additional administrative services;
- Other services specifically agreed with a partner.
CPD Credit-related charges may depend on the number of learners and number of credits associated with a program.
Applicable fees will be communicated through the relevant service, quotation, application, agreement, or invoice.
11. Payment
Where a fee applies, payment must be made through the payment method specified by CPD Council or its authorized payment provider.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, applicable charges must be paid within the stated payment period.
Failure to make required payment may result in suspension or delay of the relevant service, verification, certificate issuance, or processing.
CPD Council may use authorized third-party payment providers to process transactions.
12. Refunds & Cancellations
Refund eligibility depends on the nature and stage of the service requested.
Where a service has already been substantially processed, evaluated, verified, issued, or completed, applicable fees may be non-refundable.
Any refund or cancellation arrangement agreed with an institutional partner may be governed by the relevant partnership or service agreement.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Certificates & Digital Credentials
Certificates, digital badges, verification records, and other credentials issued through CPD Council are subject to the information and conditions under which they were issued.
Users must not:
- Alter certificates or credentials;
- Change verification information;
- Transfer credentials to another individual;
- Create unauthorized copies intended to mislead;
- Claim recognition outside the approved scope;
- Represent a CPD Council credential as a government license or academic degree.
CPD Council may invalidate or withdraw a credential where it was issued on the basis of materially inaccurate information, fraudulent activity, unauthorized use, or other serious violation of applicable requirements.
14. Responsibilities of Recognized Centers
Recognized centers agree to:
- Maintain the quality standards applicable to their recognition;
- Provide accurate program information;
- Maintain appropriate learner records;
- Deliver recognized programs substantially as approved;
- Protect the integrity of CPD Credits and certificates;
- Use CPD Council marks only as authorized;
- Cooperate with reasonable verification or quality reviews;

- Avoid misleading claims about CPD Council recognition.
Centers remain responsible for the educational services they provide to their learners.
15. Responsibilities of Learners & Professionals
Learners and professionals are responsible for providing accurate information and using CPD Council credentials appropriately.
Users must not submit fraudulent records, misrepresent participation, manipulate assessment evidence, or claim CPD Credits for learning activities that were not legitimately completed or recognized.
Individuals should retain appropriate evidence of their professional development where required by employers, professional bodies, regulators, or other organizations.
16. Partners & Third-Party Organizations
CPD Council may collaborate with professional associations, educational institutions, industry organizations, training providers, recognition bodies, and other organizations.
A partnership does not automatically mean that every activity, program, credential, or statement made by the partner is endorsed by CPD Council.
The scope of each partnership or recognition arrangement will be determined by the applicable agreement.
Where a partner’s activities materially conflict with CPD Council requirements, CPD Council may review, suspend, restrict, or terminate the relevant recognition or partnership arrangement.
17. Intellectual Property
The CPD Council name, logo, trademarks, verification marks, frameworks, methodologies, website content, graphics, documents, databases, digital assets, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except where expressly permitted, users may not:
- Reproduce CPD Council proprietary materials;
- Modify or adapt Council frameworks;
- Commercialize Council materials;
- Create confusingly similar marks;
- Use CPD Council branding to imply unauthorized endorsement;

Authorized use of CPD Council marks is limited to the scope and conditions communicated by the Council.
18. AI-Assisted Services
CPD Council may use artificial intelligence and machine-assisted technologies to support analysis, quality review, data organization, content evaluation, emerging-skill analysis, and other professional development processes.
AI-assisted analysis is used as part of a blended methodology and may be combined with human review, professional judgment, evidence assessment, and foresight techniques.
AI outputs may be subject to validation and should not be interpreted as infallible or as replacing appropriate professional judgment.
19. Professional Foresight
CPD Council may incorporate professional foresight, emerging-skills analysis, industry signals, technology trends, and future-oriented evaluation into its recognition methodology.
Foresight assessments are intended to identify potential future requirements and opportunities. They do not constitute predictions or guarantees of future employment, regulatory requirements, market conditions, or professional outcomes.
20. Data Protection & Privacy
CPD Council may collect and process personal and organizational information necessary to provide its services.
This may include information relating to applications, recognition, verification, certification, communication, quality assurance, record keeping, and service administration.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection requirements and the CPD Council Privacy Policy.
Users should review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.
21. Confidentiality
CPD Council seeks to maintain the confidentiality of non-public information submitted during applications, assessments, verification processes, and partnership activities.
Confidential information may be disclosed where necessary to:
- Provide the requested service;
- Complete an evaluation;
- Protect the integrity of the recognition system;
- Meet legal or regulatory requirements;
- Prevent fraud or misuse;
- Comply with a valid legal obligation.
Additional confidentiality obligations may apply under a separate agreement.
22. Third-Party Links & Services
The CPD Council website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, services, or resources.
Such links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute endorsement or approval of the third-party organization or its services.
CPD Council is not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or terms of third-party websites.
Users should review the relevant third-party terms before using external services.
23. Complaints & Appeals
Users may submit complaints concerning CPD Council services or recognition processes through the designated communication channels.
Where an appeal process applies, users may be required to provide the relevant decision, reasons for appeal, supporting evidence, and other information reasonably required for review.
CPD Council aims to handle complaints and appeals fairly and consistently.
The existence of an appeal does not automatically suspend an existing recognition decision unless CPD Council determines otherwise.
24. Suspension or Withdrawal of Recognition
CPD Council may suspend, restrict, or withdraw recognition where there is evidence of:
- Serious non-compliance;
- Fraudulent or misleading information;
- Unauthorized use of CPD Council marks;
- Misuse of CPD Credits;
- Falsification of records;
- Material deterioration in applicable standards;
- Failure to complete required corrective action;
- Conduct that materially damages the integrity of the recognition framework.
Where reasonably appropriate, CPD Council may provide an opportunity for corrective action before final withdrawal.
25. Disclaimer of Warranties
CPD Council seeks to provide reliable and professionally structured services but does not guarantee that:
- The website will always be available;
- Services will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- Every third party will accept a CPD Council credential;
- Recognition will result in employment, promotion, admission, licensing, or other professional outcomes;
- Future recognition requirements will remain unchanged.
Services are provided subject to applicable standards, availability, and the terms of the relevant recognition or service arrangement.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CPD Council shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or unforeseeable losses arising from the use of its website or services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Where a separate written agreement exists between CPD Council and a partner or organization, the liability provisions of that agreement may apply.
27. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, users and recognized organizations agree to take responsibility for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from their:
- Breach of these Terms;
- Fraudulent or misleading conduct;
- Unauthorized use of CPD Council materials or marks;
- Misuse of CPD Council recognition;
- Violation of applicable laws or third-party rights.
This provision does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss results from CPD Council’s own non-excludable legal responsibility.
28. Changes to These Terms
CPD Council may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in services, technology, professional standards, legal requirements, or operational practices.
Updated Terms will be published on the website with a revised effective date where appropriate.
Continued use of CPD Council services following the effective date of updated Terms may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms, subject to applicable law.
29. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
The invalid provision will be interpreted or replaced, where legally possible, in a manner that most closely reflects its original purpose.
30. No Waiver
Failure by CPD Council to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a permanent waiver of that provision or of CPD Council’s right to enforce it in the future.
31. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which CPD Council is legally established, unless otherwise specified in a separate written agreement.
Any dispute shall, where appropriate, first be addressed through good-faith communication and the applicable complaints or dispute-resolution process.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved through such mechanisms, it may be subject to the competent courts or dispute-resolution body having jurisdiction under applicable law.
